We had a great party all planned out for our annual Halloween event with Jen Doerscheln of Usborne Books this year. It was all ready to go and unfortunately we picked the wrong day. The wind was fierce that day and destroyed everything in its path including some of our displays and our tent! We were sad to hear that many of you couldn’t make it out for the fun and totally understand that the weather was less than desirable especially for the little ones.

As a special Halloween treat, we’ve decided to extend our event raffle to all of our fans in hopes that you will share with others! There are 4 amazing prizes up for grabs! There are so many ways to win too! This is for local participants only (20 miles outside of Palatine, IL).

Over the weekend I had the chance to photograph a very independent and sweet little girl.  A is almost 18 months old and was running all over the place.   It was a beautiful day at the park and her family and I had a great time singing, rocking, running, and playing with leaves!  I really couldn’t believe how much little A has changed since the last time I photographed her.  If you didn’t get to see her at 6 months or just want to see how much she has grown, click HERE.  I was so happy to see she still had those cute little baby cheeks!

Last weekend, I was excited to meet the new K family member, Baby Q! She is such a tiny little pumpkin! I really enjoyed working with her and her wonderful new parents. If you didn’t get to see the K family’s maternity session, check it out HERE!

Even though this tiny princess was having some tummy troubles and insisted on staying awake for most of the session, she was quite the model in these beautiful images. I hope the K family loves them as much as I do!

As we swiftly move through the fall months, I amazed by all of the changes. The leaves, the temperature, the air and the list goes on. I love seeing these changes surrounded by a beautiful family expecting a baby. I was very excited to work with the J Family this past weekend as they prepare for their little boy. I could tell that little A is going to be a great big sister and that little boy will be surrounded by a lot of love. Here are some images I took of a beautiful expecting mother. It was a beautiful weekend and we couldn’t ask for better weather! This resulted in me doing an impromptu photo session in my backyard with my 3 boys! They were in the best moods and had so much fun. It is sad that summer is over but at least we have one more week of amazing weather!

Since we had many requests for special fall mini sessions, I have put together 2 dates. The first one is on Sunday, October 16th and the second is Sunday, October 24th.

The locations, dates and times are on the flyer below. These include 6-8 edited images and include up to 5 people. Any more than 5 people is $15 per person extra. Immediate family members only! If you want a portrait session with grandparents, cousins, aunts, uncles, etc., you will have to schedule a full portrait session. We have a very limited amount of outdoor portrait session times available for this year. If you planned on scheduling one, I’d contact us this week or schedule yourself for a mini session.

The mini sessions will take about 20-25 minutes per family. All proofs will be posted to one gallery from the date you choose. All families that schedule a session must sign a model release form.

Last weekend, I had a session with a wonderful family. Unfortunately our location fell through due to a festival going on that day. I quickly contacted this client before we were ready to meet with another location close by, just to find out that construction started and that beautiful location was only dirt and rubble when we got there. My heart was broken! One of my favorite locations was gone. Luckily I noticed another beautiful location on the way there and lucky for me, the family I was working with was very understanding! After all the chaos we found a beautiful location with a cute little bridge, rock area, and even another spot with amazing light! My favorite kind of location!

As you can see these two boys were not shy and I loved their energy! I have 3 boys of my own so I have a special place in my heart for those energetic boys! I could tell these two were really close and will probably be the best of friends growing up! I hope their mom and dad love these images as much as I do!

Over the weekend, I got to meet a special couple who are expecting their first baby this month. I’m glad we were able to schedule their maternity session early enough since their baby is coming a little earlier than planned. I wish them all the best at their delivery day this week and can’t wait to meet baby Q very soon!

The words that come to mind on the first image for me are “soft and beautiful” and that is where the title of this post came from. I love how beautiful a woman is when expecting. I hope you enjoy these images as much as I do. Congrats again to the expectant couple!
