Precious Beginnings Workshop and Newborn Special–Chicago Northwest Suburban Newborn Photographer

For the last couple of years I’ve thought about participating in a workshop to advance my photography and posing skills and this years the cards fell in place and I was able to finally do it! It was so great to get away from home for two whole days and focus on what I love most (besides my lovely family), my photography skills. It was also great to meet a group of wonderful women and learn a lot of new techniques and tips on posing and photographing newborns. People ask me if I will photograph newborns all of the time, and even though I do, it isn’t my focus. In the near future I would like to increase the amount of newborns I schedule and specialize in custom newborn photography.

The workshop I took was taught by Cherise Kiel of Arizona and was called Precious Beginnings. It was a small group and we were able to do some hands on work with the newborns with constant feedback from Cherise. She gave us input on setup, lighting, posing, post-processing, marketing and other business tips, and so much more! I loved that it was very personal and that if I have additional questions in the future she is available to answer them.

Since I have a TON of newborn photography props and now a whole new bag of tricks for calming and posing newborns, I’ll be adding a special for newborns this winter. Each family that schedules a newborn session with me in November 2012 through January 2013 will receive a complimentary 16×20 Gallery Canvas Wrap to hang in your baby’s nursery (or wherever you prefer).
