As the year came to an end, I had the opportunity to photograph a special little boy’s 3rd birthday party at Nibbles Play Cafe in Wheeling. It was definitely not my first event there but it was my first “Car” themed party! All of the kids had such a great time playing in all of the different toy sections they have there, dancing and listening to story time with the Big Red Monster, and even doing the Limbo! I have to say that even the adults all had a great time! Children’s birthday parties are just so much fun and I love how they all come alive during the events of the party. Usually by the time we are 10-15 minutes into the party, they are all hamming it up for the camera. I try to blend in but they always find me:)
Even though I photograph many different types of events, including birthday parties, family get-togethers, holiday parties, Christenings, Anniversary parties, Graduation parties, Retirement parties, etc., the children’s birthday parties are always my favorite! I love to capture all of the expressions of guests at the party, the details that Mom and Dad put together for their guests, the beautiful cakes that people find or make, the adults’ having fun and anything else that catches my eye. Parties can be a lot of stress for parents making sure everything is set up just perfect and everyone is having a great time, but I love knowing that they don’t have to worry about having great memories from the event! They can mingle with guests and watch their kids have the time of their lives while I get it all captured in my lens!
