Every year my family tries to visit Springfield for the Illinois State Fair that takes place on the Fair Grounds and starts the second Friday of August. My husband has family in that area so we make it a point to visit them and take a trip to the fair. This year the weather was hot but not as hot as usual and the sky was just dreary but I think I got some pretty fun photos to capture the spirit of the fair. I love all of the bright colors in the rides area and how each stand has its own personality! My kids loved the petting zoo area and all of the yummy (not so healthy) foods! We got to see musical performances, lots of farm animals, do a little shopping, and participate in some fun activities! They have horse shows, rodeos and concerts there too.
