New Years Resolutions–Chicago Northwest Suburban Children Photographer

Happy New Year!  2012 should be a big one!  It is the end of the world, right?  Don’t get me started with that one!  One thing I can’t help doing at the beginning of every year is plan out how I can make the new one better than the last one.   Since 2011 was a wonderful year for me, I have to really think outside the box of how to make 2012 even better!

I’ve been thinking hard about the changes I want to make and even have believed strongly in writing them down as a sort of “New Years Resolutions.”  Now I know what many of you are thinking that New Years Resolutions are thought about the first few weeks and then we get busy or the task seems hard so we move on to the next thing and forget about those ideal changes we wanted to make.  Here is where I say don’t give up!  I believe if you make the goals (resolutions) reachable and even think about HOW you will get there, you can and WILL!

For example, if you are not happy with how you have let yourself go after that last kid or ate too many treats during the holidays you may want to lose some weight.  Isn’t that the most popular New Years Resolution?   To make it reachable, come up with a reasonable plan.  You aren’t going to make it happen if you decide to work out 7 days a week and eat 1000 calories a day.  Of course that is a bit extreme, not to mention dangerous!  Instead you might start slow.  Make an opening in your schedule to work out for 30 minutes twice a week for a few weeks and gradually increase as your body adjusts.  Try to avoid snacking and desserts after dinner or if you are like me and can’t help eating something before bed, after a long, busy day of running around, then allow yourself one piece of fruit.  Then you can cut back on something else, like Soda or sugary drinks after a week or two.  Eventually you can decrease the extra calories you are taking in.

The above is just one example of a resolution or goal for the New Year.  I think it is important to have at least one for every area in your life so I have provided you all with a super cute printable New Years Resolution Goal Worksheet.  You can fill it out with the 3 most important goals you have for each area and please, make them reasonable.  Some of my goals for my home include Organizing my home so that I can find things and make meals planning easier and healthier.    I plan to go room by room with the organizing planning one task a week to make sure I don’t burn myself out by February.  With meal planning I’m going to try to tie in one new tip a week with making healthier and easier meals for my family.  For Just Peachy Photography, my goal is to finally finish upgrading my website and also post regular blogs and blog threads for you all to enjoy including guest blogger posts, weekly posts and fun freebies like the one in this post!

What are some of your New Years Resolutions (goals)?  I’d love to hear some in the comments below!  Also let me know what you think of your new worksheet!  Please share this printable worksheet with other people that could use a little help with organizing their goals.
